The venerable Destiny’s Child classic is drenched generously in twang, through the low guitar, high/low cowbells, and narrow synth parabolas. We get ominous 90s West Coast vibes with periodic embellishments, especially during the bridge, and this can be a nifty excuse to invest in hydraulics for whatever ride you have. Jean Tonique is always a creative mood manipulator, and certainly didn’t disappoint with this diddy.
An impressive Jersey Clubization of an acoustic pop tune from our childhood, that being bubbly Norwegian pop duo, M2M’s “Don’t Say You Love Me” from 2000. The identity of Block Flute Squad could become another major mystery in the R&B remixer scene if they continue to weave humor, hip-hop, R&B and pop so convincingly into their original productions, as they have in this floor crowder.
